The Route W ramp to westbound U.S. 54 closes Monday, so you'll detour via U.S. 63

3 weekswith no access to or from Airport Road and westbound U.S. 54

The ramp from westbound U.S. 54 to Airport Road is already closed, so both are shut at once.

If you drive through North Jefferson City, plan another route. Central Mo Info reports that Missouri Department of Transportation crews will close the Route W ramp to westbound U.S. 54 beginning Monday. It's part of the project expanding the highway.

  • Detour: eastbound U.S. 54 to the U.S. 63 interchange
  • Why: new pavement for the U.S. 63/U.S. 54 lane onto the bridge
  • Weather: work is weather permitting and schedules can change

KOMU 8 reports that Route W is also known as Airport Road, and that the westbound exit ramp to Cedar City Drive closed in September. A dedicated southbound lane on U.S. 63 onto the Missouri River bridge will open at this time. Heading that way? We suggest leaving a few extra minutes.

For everyone thinking about data centers right now, PLEASE DO NOT UTILIZE AI IF YOU WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT DATA CENTERS.

“If you have questions about them, they are the big focus at my job right now. Also, I work to give the public a voice in hearings related to public utilities. I get being scared or frustrated, but relying on AI to understand what's going on with data centers creates more of a need for data centers.”
