- ➤ Several upcoming events in Capital City offer choices for residents— a dinner auction benefiting the Boys and Girls Club will take place on Monday at Capitol Plaza Hotel and Convention Center, while the Show Me Airshow featuring veterans and aircraft is scheduled for Sept. 13-14 at Jefferson City Memorial Airport. Additional events include a chalk art fair on Sept. 14 at Memorial Park, a United Way block party on Sept. 18 at Madison Street, and local talent performances on Sept. 27 and Oct. 25 in downtown Jefferson City. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Tatum Townsend, 25, from Fulton was arrested in Jefferson City after she hit two cyclists at Binder Park on Sunday morning—causing roughly $14,400 in damage and injuring one cyclist with a swollen and possibly broken ankle—and she now faces six felony charges including aggravated driving while intoxicated, second-degree assault, misdemeanor fourth-degree assault, first-degree property damage, leaving the scene and armed criminal action. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ameren Missouri filed for a public service commission certificate to build a 250-megawatt solar project near its Callaway Energy site that will install 30 miles of panels to power roughly 44,000 homes and create 300 construction jobs at peak. Local landowners in Mid-Missouri raised concerns that the project may reduce farmland and harm the agricultural economy and plan to work with state lawmakers on new legislation. KRCG-TV
