  • More than 600 families attended the Jefferson City Early Childhood Center's first Trunk or Treat at its new East McCarty Street location on Sunday afternoon—organizers report the event offered treats and fun for children.   • On Sunday afternoon, Jefferson City skaters celebrated the park's 25th anniversary with a friendly trick competition and community gathering.   • The federal government shutdown has led state agencies to pause November SNAP benefits, putting over 700,000 Missourians at risk of losing food assistance—Missouri Social Services will still process new SNAP applications amid concerns that funds may run out in two weeks.  ABC 17

HEALTH NEWS

  • Crowds came for the unique beer and stayed for the unusual wares—Last Flight Brewing Company hosted its fourth Bizarre Beer and Bazaar last Sunday afternoon in Jefferson City.
