- ➤ The Go Mid Mo arts calendar for Oct. 9 to Oct. 15 shows local music, theater and art events in Jefferson City, Columbia and nearby towns — event organizers must submit details by noon Tuesday to be included. Jefferson City News Tribune
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Teachers and parents in Ashland supported a switch to a 4-day school week for Southern Boone School District with the change set to start next school year; school officials held a community meeting on Thursday to discuss the plan. School Superintendent Dr. Tim Roth (who said the proposal is meant to keep current staff and attract qualified candidates) said a final proposal will be brought to the Board of Education in December. - ➤ On Friday evening, Zimmer Radio broadcast three high school football games in mid-Missouri — Columbia Rock Bridge played the Bruins live on KTGR with Andy Humphrey, Jefferson City faced Helias Interparish on Newsradio 950 KWOS with Kevin Kelly and Tom Kramer, and North Callaway hosted Mark Twain on Big 900 KFAL, with each game kicking off at 7 p.m. KWOS
- ➤ College football fans in Jefferson City are excited as undefeated Mizzou with a 5-0 record takes on 4-1 Alabama in a top-15 matchup today at Faurot Field, marking the first win over the Tide in 50 years. The game and live broadcast of SEC Nation & the Paul Finebaum show will be available on local radio and the SEC Network. KWOS
