- ➤ A memorial service honoring fallen Missouri firefighters will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Fire Fighters Memorial of Missouri where fallen Boone County Fire Protection District Assistant Fire Chief Matthew Tobben—who died during a water rescue in July 2024—is honored. - ➤ Mizzou Athletics and the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Score Against Hunger campaign this fall with a ribbon cutting attended by Columbia Chamber of Commerce ambassadors; veteran broadcaster Mike Kelly (a food bank board member) said the campaign started by coach Larry Smith in 1995 now helps more than 100,000 people each month across a 32-county area.
