- ➤ A candlelight vigil honored the life of late conservative activist Charlie Kirk as about 1,000 residents gathered at the front lawn of the Missouri State Capitol on Wednesday night. Amanda Wiley organized the event to carry on Kirk’s legacy—organizers say a second vigil will be held on Sunday, September 21 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. KRCG-TV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A vigil for conservative activist Charlie Kirk was held Wednesday night at the State Capitol south lawn at 7:45 p.m.—the community-centered event aimed to support prayer for the nation—as prosecutors charged Tyler Robinson with multiple counts including aggravated murder on Tuesday and announced they will seek the death penalty while a memorial service is set for Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale. - ➤ Lincoln University earned a seven-year accreditation from AAQEP for its teacher and school counselor preparation programs on June 24; university officials said the recognition shows the school meets quality standards—demonstrating its strong commitment to preparing skilled educators. - ➤ Jefferson City Council members can now review closed information on the downtown hotel and conference center—this hard-copy study from CBRE Hotels is available only at City Hall. They will use the cash flow projections from the study when voting on the master development agreement on Oct. 6 after a working session on Sept. 25. ABC 17
