  • The Jefferson City community gathered on Sunday at American Legion Post 5 for Patriot Sunday, where Operation Bugle Boy hosted a free fried chicken dinner for first responders + at least 500 people attended. Highway Patrol Trooper Christina Sumner and Maj. Justin McCullough joined the celebration of community gratitude.  Jefferson City News Tribune

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A Missouri Powerball ticket matched all six numbers in Saturday's drawing and won half of a $1.787 billion jackpot— the second-largest in U.S. lottery history. The Missouri ticket holder will share the prize with a winner from Texas while three other players won $50,000 by matching four white-ball numbers and must claim their prizes by March 5, 2026.  ABC 17

EDUCATION NEWS

  • During summer break, Lincoln University band director Kalem Graham held a Zoom call with the marching band to build a relationship with new students — he later led warmups at the Richardson Fine Arts Center on Tuesday.  Jefferson City News Tribune
