ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A wrongful death lawsuit alleges that the Jeep company could have prevented the Highway 63 crash that killed Ashley Apel when a Higbee man’s Jeep struck her car near Hallsville — the crash also claimed two lives in 2023.  KWOS

CRIME NEWS

  • A Jefferson City man was arrested Friday for possessing 2.88 grams of meth after he hinted to an officer he planned to buy it plus he admitted carrying a handgun and being a convicted felon.  KRCG-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Crews will begin closing two on ramps from Clark Avenue and Eastland to Highway—50 on Monday while work on Highway—54 wrapped up ahead of schedule. Crews will continue working on the Neighorn Branch bridge south of Jefferson City through November.  KWOS

SPORTS NEWS

  • Mizzou is hosting the Kansas Jayhawks today at Faurot Field—kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. Former Tigers recalled past battles and noted that a victory over Kansas could boost the season.  KRCG-TV
