The Jefferson City Salvation Army opened a Homeless Resource Center on Monday that offers housing, healthcare, job help and free meals while renovating to nearly double beds from 31 to 62—residents can also use computers and get one-on-one caseworker support.

The center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for walk-ins.

Jefferson City Council approved a five-year contract with PCI Municipal Services LLC to manage parking operations on Monday night with an 8—2 vote; the agreement costs $4,844,312 total with $645,000 in the first year as the city prepares to replace the Madison Street garage demolition with a new downtown conference center.
