  • At the Jefferson City Jaycees Cole County Fair, midway workers said the hot week did not stop visitors from enjoying rides and games — the fair continues to draw crowds despite the heat.  Jefferson City News Tribune
  • JC Parks added a custom communication board at Binder Park on Thursday afternoon—its icons show playground equipment, symbols, and words to help children with speech challenges communicate better. Officials said they plan to add similar boards to other city playgrounds in the future.  KRCG-TV
  • On Thursday, Binder Park opened Jefferson City's first inclusive playground with accessible equipment as Parks and Recreation Commission vice president Chris Duren cut the ribbon amid children playing. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • One week ago, a 9-year-old boy lost his life in an accident at a Katy Trail crossing north of the Capital Bluffs Event Center—residents are urging the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and Callaway County to install safety signs and review crossing measures to prevent future tragedies.  KRCG-TV
  • A crash on Highway 54 in the westbound lanes under West High Street caused traffic to back up into Jefferson City Thursday morning — the police confirmed the delay as a Missouri Department of Transportation camera showed the backup.  KRCG-TV

  • Crews will shut down the westbound 54 off ramp to Missouri Blvd, the eastbound 50 ramp to 54 and the Missouri Blvd ramp to eastbound Highway 50 next Tuesday for the Highway 54 and Missouri Blvd project. Drivers already faced long traffic jams while heading to the Lake and may experience more delays during construction.  KWOS
