After a tractor-trailer knocked down an Ameren power pole near Bolivar and High, city staff closed key routes while firefighters staged trucks from Station 1 on Bolivar Street, responding to an 11 a.m. call from the Dulle-Hamilton area.

Jefferson City's first Panda Express opened on Monday, July 13 at 2519 Missouri Blvd, drawing customers who lined up from 5:30 a.m. and received gifts before enjoying American-Chinese dishes.

The restaurant will serve from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. during its first week.

Local photographer Jim Rathert, known for expanding the department’s bird photo collection to 270 species, passed away on July 2 + his archive of over 100,000 images was transferred to the Missouri State Archives, with plans to share more slides on the website in the coming months.
