Over the weekend, after 12 inches of rain fell, the Jefferson City Fire Department's Water Rescue Team deployed to Reynolds County to assist with water rescues and search operations.

Missouri officials report that brown recluses are more active this summer due to mating season, and a Jefferson City homeowner says she is seeing more spiders in her house.

She has scheduled additional pest control to protect her two young children (spiders rarely bite unless startled).
