Flash flooding and storm damage hit parts of central and southeast Missouri yesterday as heavy rains of 4 to 8 inches fell in Maries County, Vichy area and Cole County — residents were encouraged to submit photos on the Chime In page.

Developers and community leaders broke ground last Friday for Moreau Valley Apartments at 2135 Schotthill Woods Drive in east Jefferson City.

The 48-unit affordable housing complex, funded by tax credits and over $3.5 million in disaster relief recovery funds, is projected to finish by late 2027 to support local workforce needs.
