Jefferson City is set to celebrate Salute to America with family-friendly activities starting Friday night at Capital Region Amphitheater and continuing Saturday with a parade, fireworks, a balloon glow, and a headliner Chris Janson concert; the event will also feature food trucks, kids' zone, and water stations to beat the heat.

Jefferson City's Salute to America celebration continues despite a heat advisory lasting through the holiday weekend.

The festival began yesterday at the Capitol and features today's show at Capital Region Ampitheater starting at 5:30 p.m. with extra safety measures like water refill stations and cooling zones.

4th of July Ice Cream Party and Fireworks

6:00 – 10:25 PM — North Jefferson City Recreation Area — Free entry — Celebrate Independence Day with ice cream, hotdogs, and a vibrant fireworks display.

July Community Hike

7-7:30 p.m. — McKay Park — Free entry — Explore the scenic McKay Lake Greenway with family and friends.

3rd Annual Whiskey & Warriors Community Event

Maker Skills Workshops: Summer Series

10 a.m. – 12 p.m. — Lab Space Robotics — $25 per workshop or $60 for all three days — Dive into hands-on building projects that blend creativity with engineering skills for ages 8 to 14.

Float Your Boat Competition
