Jefferson City firefighters rescued a worker stuck on an elevated lift in the 1800 block of Vieth Drive on Wednesday morning after falling debris made the lift inoperable, using a manual hydraulic override to lower him safely.

Paddy Malone’s was built in 1863 as a blacksmith shop before it became a saloon in the 1870s and is now the oldest continually operated saloon in Jefferson City; it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.
