- ➤ The United Way’s Cole County Community Organizations Active in Disaster is hosting the Cole County Ready Festival today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lincoln University’s Jason Gym to promote emergency preparedness, with partners including the Cole County Office of Emergency Management + American Red Cross offering resource booths, local emergency response trucks, safety vehicles and food trucks. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Three people suffered moderate injuries when a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro and a 2020 Chevrolet Sonic collided on West Truman Boulevard and South Country Club Drive at 11:48 a.m.—the 29-year-old man and the 29-year-old woman with her 6-year-old daughter were taken to University Hospital while police diverted traffic for 30 minutes. - ➤ Amy Murray from Iberia, accused of fatally poisoning her husband with antifreeze and burning their home, entered an Alford plea and will serve 12 years in prison—prosecutors said she was a nurse at JC-CC at the time. KWOS
