The Central Missouri Humane Society is asking local residents for emergency foster homes as extreme heat is forecast to hit starting Sunday.
The shelter offers free food, supplies and medical care — along with reduced dog adoption fees until July 10.

Eleven Missouri K-12 students were honored for essays celebrating American liberty as part of the America 250 contest launched earlier this year.
