Catholic education leader Erin Vader is leaving the diocese for a new role in Kansas City, Kansas (beginning early August) as Kathryn Coulson becomes interim superintendent while a national search begins.
The diocese oversees 37 schools across Missouri and thanked Vader for her service.
🌲 Environment
The Missouri DNR and State Parks have warned locals about harmful algal blooms in nearby water bodies as warmer weather increases algae growth.
Residents are urged to steer clear of lakes with unusual green scum and keep pets away (and to report any sightings using the official form).
🏛️ Government
Room at the Inn's plan to add a resource center and more bed spaces at 107 Adams Street was blocked by the planning and zoning commission last Thursday after a tied vote plus a deciding no vote by Chair Penny Quigg; city council will discuss the proposal on Aug.
