- ➤ Lincoln University extension specialist Homero Salinas-Gonzalez received the 2026 Outstanding Project Award in April at Nashville’s ERME National Conference for his project (Pasture and Livestock Risk Management Education for Missouri Small Ruminant Farmers) that helped local producers manage risk with field days, webinars and online tools. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ East Miller Street from Jefferson Street to Madison Street will be closed for 12 weeks beginning Monday, June 8 for roof repairs at a Central Bank facility. City Public Works said work may extend if weather delays occur — conditions will guide the schedule. KRCG-TV
- ➤ Jefferson City honored Division Chief Jason Turner on Friday for nearly 29 years of service at the fire department. He received his helmet and the mayor’s key as recognition for his leadership and commitment. KRCG-TV

- ➤ KRCG producer Spencer Ferreira attempted the West Main Pizza Challenge on Thursday, May 28 in Jefferson City but managed just over half of a 26-inch pizza with mixed toppings. He noted the cheese proved the toughest part as the challenge set in around 20 minutes. KRCG-TV
