- ➤ The Missouri River Regional Library unveiled a new Sprinter Van at a Thursday morning ribbon cutting to expand library services in Cole and Osage counties. The van—fitted with eight carts and funded by $75,000 in ARPA funds and a $150,000 local donation—will travel to schools, retirement communities and other local events, and will serve as a temporary library for Lewis and Clark Middle School this fall. - ➤ James Henderson, a life inmate serving a murder sentence, is now facing charges for attacking two JCCC prison staffers in 2023—one of whom suffered stab wounds to the head and arm—during an incident south of Jefferson City. KWOS

- ➤ Local students will present 'Wonderland: Alice's Rock & Roll Adventure, the Musical,' a vibrant adaptation of a classic tale with a rock soundtrack at Capital City Productions in Jefferson City. - ➤ Lincoln University of Missouri has announced a new fully online Master of Arts program in Community and Economic Development that will launch in fall 2025 and prepares working professionals for public service and nonprofit leadership. - ➤ The Missouri Department of Transportation is moving to the second phase of Highway 54 bridge rehabilitation in Jefferson City. Starting June 3, crews will shift traffic to the right lanes of the Stadium Boulevard overpass — and the Linden Drive overpass — while closing the eastbound off-ramp to Madison Street and the westbound off-ramp to Stadium Boulevard. - ➤ The Jefferson City Police Department has appointed a second community resource officer to support the city's homeless and mental health outreach. Police Chief Eric Wilde said rising mental-health calls—already on par with traffic accidents—prompted the move to connect those in need with essential resources. ABC 17
- ➤ The Attorney General’s Vehicle Stops Report released Thursday found that Black drivers were 58% more likely to be pulled over than white drivers statewide in 2024, with Jefferson City and other counties showing similar disparities. In Jefferson City Black drivers were about twice as likely to be stopped, while in Columbia they were over three times as likely to face traffic stops. ABC 17
