- ➤ In Mid-Missouri, foster children outnumber available homes, forcing some kids to move between short-term placements while others are sent to counties far from home. Gage Claas from Coyote Hill said the shortage makes it harder to resolve cases quickly. Jefferson City News Tribune

- ➤ During May, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeerie 2693 in Jefferson City awarded six students the Rob Ferguson Memorial Scholarships; each student got $1,000 with a certificate, check — and a box of candy. A reception honored the awardees on May 7, with Eagles Auxiliary President Linda Schmutz — and Aerie President Gary Peneston presenting the awards. Jefferson City News Tribune
- ➤ Mediacom Communications selected local high school senior Madelyn Wood as a winner of its World Class Scholarship Program — awarding her a $1,000 scholarship for leadership and academics. Jefferson City News Tribune
