United States Army veteran Kirk Mitchell—an Army veteran with nearly 20 years of service—appeared on KRCG 13 Live at Sunrise on May 21 to promote The Healing Box Project’s 13th Annual Benefit, a local music event that offers free guitar lessons to veterans.

Mitchell urged local veterans and residents to attend the benefit at The Fish in Camdenton on June 1.

After deadly storms on May 16 caused part of Centennial Christian Church to collapse in St. Louis, Missouri's congressional delegation led by Senators Hawley and Schmitt asked for federal aid and pressed for quick relief efforts—Hawley demanded that FEMA and insurers act fast—to support those affected by the damage.
