- ➤ Thorpe Gordon STEM Academy held its first Rocket Day on Friday when students launched a bottle rocket using vinegar and baking soda from a 5 gallon bucket. Teachers wore space-themed costumes (and a fifth-grader inspected a landed rocket) as the event unfolded. Jefferson City News Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Missouri lawmakers will meet in Jefferson City this summer after Memorial Day to review a bill that covers half the cost for a new Royals stadium and renovations at Arrowhead Stadium—efforts aimed at keeping the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals in Missouri. Governor Mike Kehoe and Rep. Sam Graves support the plan that could boost economic development with up to $3-billion in investments. KWOS
