- ➤ The Jefferson City School District named a new principal for Belair Elementary School — the new leader is set to begin soon, officials said. Jefferson City News Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Jefferson City’s public pools will open on Sunday, May 25—one day later than planned—to allow for last-minute repairs and in-water staff training after recent maintenance. JC Parks said crews finished fixing the main pool basin and worked on repainting the catch pool and splash pad areas. ABC 17
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Missouri upgraded its WIC system on May 1 so participants can load benefits remotely—reducing the need for in-person visits and helping more eligible families receive food assistance. Officials expect the online system to boost enrollment and simplify tracking and reimbursements. Jefferson City News Tribune

- ➤ Ben Holee hit a three-run double that gave the Helias Crusaders a 3-2 win over the Jefferson City Jays at Jefferson City High School on May 15.
