- ➤ Lincoln University held its last winter farmers market Saturday and manager Sage Jakobi said the summer market will begin May 3. The new market will run every Saturday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at 1219 Chestnut St. and will welcome new vendors such as farmers and gardeners. Jefferson City News Tribune

- ➤ A new business called Sofa City—set to offer comfortable furniture options—will soon open on Missouri Boulevard, and local officials say more details will be released soon. Jefferson City News Tribune
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Otis Sullens, a native of Miller County, mined near Enon where he found important prehistoric fossils that were later sent to the American Museum of Natural History and the Missouri State Museum. He worked many years in the mines and the dust and toxins he breathed eventually made him very sick. Jefferson City News Tribune
