- ➤ On Sunday, April 13, 2025, Thomas George Jones, 71, was arrested at Hunter Lane Apartments in Holts Summit after a shooting left one person dead and he sustained a minor graze — he was charged with fourth-degree assault after trying to confront the victim's family despite warnings. KRCG-TV
- ➤ A California man, 40-year-old Samuel Spinner, was arrested in Cole County on Monday morning after deputies reported he pointed a gun at a driver at 6:46 a.m. near the 8100 block of Highway 50 — he now faces a felony charge of Unlawful Use of Weapon and is held without bond. KRCG-TV

- ➤ Lincoln University students studying biology, chemistry, physics or mathematics can apply for REGAL Noyce Project scholarships and internships until April 30 — the program, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, will offer classroom experience and financial support to help prepare future K-12 STEM teachers. - ➤ MoDOT spent $8 million repairing potholes in mid-Missouri after winter storms in January and February caused road damage—labor costs have been about $5 million so far.
