  • Hardee's will reopen five corporate restaurants in Missouri later this April, including the Jefferson City location and others at (228 Fifth St. in Washington, 702 Jackson St. in Mexico, 702 North Franklin St. in Cuba, and 308 Highway 24 East in Moberly) as part of its broader reopening strategy.  KRCG-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • More than 700 students visited the Capitol on Thursday for Fine Arts Day, and Blair Oaks sophomore August Hunt was recognized by Sen. Mike Bernskoetter for his watercolor painting now on display for a year.  Jefferson City News Tribune

  • A sixth-grade student at Lewis and Clark Middle School in Jefferson City has learned to play the violin one-handed, adding his personal touch to the school orchestra. His unique skill makes rehearsals more engaging for fellow students.  Jefferson City News Tribune
  • Jefferson City's own Natalie E. Hudson, a Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice and native, will deliver the keynote address at Lincoln University's Honors Convocation on Thursday, April 23 at 11 a.m. in Mitchell Auditorium as the university celebrates 160 years.  Lincoln University of Missouri

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City staff began adding about 30 new parking spots on West Main Street on Wednesday. The new spaces will open next week to improve local access.  Jefferson City News Tribune

  • Blair Scanlon was named the new boys basketball coach at Capital City High School (CCHS), with the Jefferson City School District announcing the hire on Friday. With over 20 years of coaching experience, he will also begin teaching physical education next school year.  KRCG-TV
