CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A federal grand jury indicted Robert M. Matthews, 42, a Jefferson City man who pleaded guilty in September to charges from a 2024 road rage incident – he admitted displaying a gun on May 23 and now faces federal charges for being a felon in possession of a firearm. KRCG-TV
- ➤ A Jefferson City man, Christian Chenet, was arrested Tuesday at 2:41 p.m.—in the 100 block of East High Street—after he threatened to get his gun when asked to leave a downtown business over a misplaced purse; prosecutors charged him with First Degree Harassment and Fourth Degree Assault. - ➤ Latrell Batts, 27, was charged on April 8 for pulling a gun during a bar fight on March 11 and faces federal counts for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, unlawfully using a weapon, and armed criminal action (he has prior convictions for assault and accessory forcible stealing).
