- ➤ Demolition crews began tearing down the old Gerbes building on the 1200 block of East McCarty Street yesterday as part of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church's $40 million expansion. The church will finish the first phase with a new school, playgrounds, and updated entrance by Aug. 2027 with further improvements planned over five years. ABC 17

- ➤ Lincoln University hosted a virtual symposium on emerging plant and animal diseases on March 5, bringing together researchers from the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, and Colombia to discuss food security and agricultural challenges — the seventh annual event aims to strengthen international partnerships.
