CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Dillon Johnson, 33, of Jefferson City was charged Friday with felonies for controlled substance possession and interfering with an arrest after fleeing on foot following a chase in Callaway County, while his passenger Orion Kenneth Mullins, 31, was arrested Sunday in Fulton for tampering with a vehicle. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A Missouri state senate bill proposes that classrooms display the Ten Commandments in all public schools statewide. The bill—now in the education committee—has divided local residents and lawmakers, with supporters citing tradition and opponents raising constitutional concerns. KRCG-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services transferred over $23 million from the state’s adult-use marijuana program to the Missouri Veterans Commission and DHSS. The Veterans Commission received over $11 million for veteran health care while DHSS will use $11 million to improve addiction treatment and overdose prevention education — supporting veteran families and individuals with substance use disorders.
