ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A fire in a townhome on the 600 block of Oak Creek Court injured one person and displaced four adults on March 27 when firefighters contained the blaze that damaged a nearby unit—investigators are still trying to determine the cause. Jefferson City News Tribune
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Jefferson City man Ke’Andre Ruffin, 22, was charged Thursday with first-degree domestic assault in Cole County after allegedly assaulting a woman on Monday—he remains in custody at the Cole County Jail without bond while awaiting a court date. ABC 17
- ➤ Charles Henton, 34, was arrested in Mexico when deputies said he threw a bag (weighing 270 grams of fentanyl) from his car on January 19; he faces federal charges for possession with intent to distribute after pleading not guilty in a St. Louis court. KRCG-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Construction crews demolished the historic two-story home at 401 E. Capitol Avenue today after strong winds damaged the roof and made falling debris a hazard. Jefferson City officials had planned to renovate and sell the property but decided it was too unsafe to save. KRCG-TV
