- ➤ The Jefferson City Fire Department said retired Captain Kelly Forck died Wednesday, Mar. 26. He served 29 years+ as a firefighter and safety inspector who helped protect our community. KRCG-TV

- ➤ Lincoln University honored George Washington Carver with a three-day event in February that featured breakout sessions on agriculture, food waste and nutrition — about 100 local growers gathered on campus and at McClung Park to celebrate his legacy. Lincoln University of Missouri
- ➤ Representatives from Lincoln University attended the CARET/BAA Washington Conference from Feb. 22 — 25 in Washington, D.C. where they shared advocacy strategies and federal funding insights to support extension services, capacity funding, and local agricultural development for Missouri farmers. - ➤ In early March, Lincoln University of Missouri’s Native and Specialty Crops Program held a pruning workshop at Alan T. Busby Farm to show community members how to care for native fruit trees by removing dead and crowded branches. Participants learned techniques to improve airflow for healthier harvests.
