ECONOMY NEWS

  • Rising global oil prices have pushed unleaded gas to $3.12 and diesel to $4.23, which is straining the budgets of Jefferson City ride share drivers like Lili Waller. Drivers are adjusting routes & work hours to cope with higher costs as prices remain elevated.  KRCG-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lincoln University senior Deyana Chism was chosen as one of five nationwide BPD Student Fellows and attended the Annual Conference in New Orleans while completing her field placement at the Missouri Department of Social Services Children's Division in Jefferson City (her achievement spotlights the university’s commitment to cultivating student leadership).  Lincoln University of Missouri

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Missouri Department of Conservation launches its statewide Callery Pear Buyback Program to replace invasive Bradford Pear trees with native trees. Registration runs March 16-April 16 and Jefferson City residents can get their replacement tree on April 21 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. (pickup available in many communities).  ABC 17
