ECONOMY NEWS

  • At a Senate Commerce Committee hearing last Tuesday, local farmers and developers warned that pausing solar projects could hurt rural income + property rights. Lawmakers are reviewing bills that would either freeze new construction until regulations are set or limit future projects.  The Missouri Times

  • Lincoln University said it will host Black History Month programs after concerns arose over an image used in an event organized by the community.   • Sen. Joe Nicola has proposed a bill to lower the minimum wage for minors to $12.30 per hour in Missouri to support small businesses and boost youth employment, while critics say the change could create a two-tier system (raising concerns over affordability and out-of-state hiring).  KRCG-TV
