- ➤ With milder weather boosting the event, the Jefferson City Host Lions Club held its ham and bean & chili fundraiser on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at the Selinger Centre. Member Lyle Rosburg said the dry conditions helped the fundraiser run smoothly. Jefferson City News Tribune

- ➤ Students at Capital City High School took a refereeing class on Wednesday, Feb. 4 to learn the rules that may ease the local referee shortage. The course helped students like Addison Thorsten move from cheering on the sidelines to actively understanding game rules. Jefferson City News Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Corn farmers and industry reps met at the Capitol Plaza Hotel today for the Missouri Corn Growers Association meeting that featured Governor Kehoe’s keynote and board elections; afterwards, members met legislators at the State Capitol to discuss corn and ethanol issues + award honors were presented.
